Went for lunch and got the pork dumplings with medium sauce on the side. They were fantastic!! Seriously. Like, the sauce should just come with a straw. It had an awesome kick to it, too. I didn't care for the taro chips, but that's ok. I don't need them anyway.

The menu was lacking just a bit. Also very greasy. Being asian myself, I understand what the food should have tasted like and it did not meet expectations. The broth in the noodles was cool by the time it got to the table. The flavor was very bland. The dumplings were good though. I could understand that they cater to people who do not understand the tastes. It's just that when I eat asian food food, I expect differently. The store is very simplistic and does give an atmosphere that is clean and for a quick lunch or dinner. Not really welcoming to those who want to sit down and take some time with it.

It was our first time to this place and we enjoyed it very much. We had the noodle bowl with pork, steamed bun with chicken, taro chips and bubble tea. Being Asian I'm always critical of Asian food and would compare it with my home country and their food was delicious. The sauce for the noodle was very well made though slightly salty for my taste but my husband likes it very much. If there were a little more noodle it would be perfect. Compared to the other pictures here our noodle bowl looked like there wasn't enough noodle. The steamed bun was like an Asian burger. I've never had anything like this before and liked it a lot. It was pan fried before serving. A little greasy but tasty. It was very hot and can be a messy to eat but worth it. Again salty for my taste but it's probably just me. The taro chips were awesome. Taro is one of my favorite food. The chips were very thinly sliced and fried to very crispy. They tasted sweet and salty. The bubble tea was pre-made but it was pretty good. The tapioca was chewy and just right. We didn't try the dumplings this time because they looked like what I could get from frozen section of an Asian supermarket but with how good the other food was I'd like to try it next time.

Concentrate on doing a few things very well, Threefold is absolutely worth trying. Don't let the simplistic, 3-item menu deter you. They offer steamed dumplings, noodle bowls and buns (read sandwich) in either Pork, Chicken or Vegetarian. The dumpling wrappers and noodles are from scratch and it shows. I was apprehensive to try the noodles as they appear very plain, but after one bite you can tell these are not your average ramens. I'd recommend anyone who favors eastern foods.

Finally there's a good noodle n dumpling place in little rock. Place is clean, service is fast and it's tasty. Limited menu but good options. Highly recommended esp if your craving for dumplings.

The dumplings are amazing! I called in my order and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. It was ready when I arrived and accurate. I had the spicy pork dumplings and it cost just under $10. The dumplings are large and plenty for a meal without any of the sides. The menu is limited but what they do make they do well! I will definitely be returning!

Very disappointed. I may be biased because I base my opinion on true dim sum, but this was not really that good. Which is amplified in disappointment because they only have two things on their menu. I expect dumplings to be served in a bamboo steam basket and soy sauce to be readily available. These were served cold in a watered-down sauce. My wife had the noodles, they were not too much better. Basically spaghetti noodles. Service was good however, but I will still not be back.

Came back to Little Rock to spend the night, do some exploring, shopping, and most importantly dining! Last time we were in town Three Fold was on the list of places to eat, but we ran out of time, and room in our bellies. I was already impressed as soon as we walked in the doors. The decor of this place is very clean and minimalistic. White tile, wood tables, and simple vases with flower buds placed in the center tables. The staff was pleasant and attentive, they checked up on us a few times throughout our short time there. You walk up to the counter to place your order. I was a little unsure how fresh the food would be, but I assure you it had just been made. It was mid afternoon and business was slow, yet our pan fried dumplings were fresh, as if they were made to order. Some of the best we have had. We also ordered a steamed bun with pork, that was made to order and brought out to our table. It was perfectly steamed, with a nice amount of cilantro on it yum. It came with a side of the best taro chips ever, perfectly crispy with a nice sprinkling of sugar. We had a order of sesame balls for a little dessert, and a milk tea to wash it all down. I wish restaurants like this where more prevalent, Three Fold Noodles and Dumpling is very simple all around, and does what they do very well.

Very modern and trendy place with authentic and delicious dumplings as well as really fresh noodle bowls. The service is really friendly, and the prices are pretty expensive ($7.5 to $8.5 for a bowl of noodles or 8 dumplings). Great dumplings-- skin is not too thick, it's perfect and they put the right amount of pork inside. I love the sauces they put on them as well.

Ok, I really like the flavor of the food...however as you read in my last review the quantity of food is the issue. I went again with a coworker since they had never been. I originally ordered pork dumplings, but I was informed there was a 10 minute wait, ugh! Since dumplings are the feather in the hat for three fold one would assume they would have dumplings on hand. I ended up ordering the pork noodle bowl, again. however, the noodles this time were spaghetti style and not the Wuhan style noodle they advertise, no matter the case the noodles were boiled too long, to the point of being mushy. the portion of noodles once again was small, one pathetic "tong-full", which was then pushed to the side of the bowl to make room for the tiny scoopfuls of pork and slaw. the serving was less than last time. the food itself was tasty minus the mushy noodles, but as my co-worker will agree we left feeling like we could have done better with our lunch money. .

TL;DR Review: A dead-serious bowl of noodles for not much dough in a stylish setting. Even from the exterior, you can tell this place is concerned with sophisticated aesthetics. Hell, take a look at the pictures here on Yelp!, and you can see that. There is something elegant about their presentation; even if it's served in a disposable bowl. When you get inside, the place is huge, and clean lines run everywhere. Tile covering most everything, two bank safe doors (?), and here and there are exposed brick. I immediately wished I'd gone at night, because the feeling of the place might be very different if there wasn't sun beaming in. It looks like a place a bond villain might take you to convince you that you should help him with his evil plan, sometime after Bauhaus became a movement. You walk up to the counter and order in the vein of a sandwich shop. I tell the guy, "spicy chicken noodle bowl," and he gets right at it. I wasn't ever offered any extra toppings, and I still don't honestly know if they offer any, but there are compartments with some sorts of ingredients here and there. I was a little worried he was going to break into a Subway-style "What else on it?" Because I'd have to point, saying, "this. that. that, and some of that, but not much." I also ordered "bubble tea," (whatever that is, I still don't know), taro chips, and pork dumplings to share with my family. After you order and pay, you pretty much just go sit anywhere. I didn't see any high chairs for my kiddo, but apparently they have them, because we were offered one by a server after my party was done eating. About the food: The noodles were spectacular. Though I asked for it spicy, it wasn't burn-your-mouth 'thai hot' spicy; expect about as much heat as you'd expect if you ordered General Tso's from wherever you like to eat Chinese. If this was my place, I'd have Sriracha on the tables, but the design of the place doesn't really lend to that. There wasn't ANYTHING on the tables, so if you want Splenda or sugar, ask for it at the register (but if you want pink stuff, you're out of luck). The chicken is shredded, not in chunks, and it also is served with some vegetable slaw and herbs. Mix it all together and dig in! Pork dumplings were also very good. One order would probably fill me up, but one order to share with my parents, wife, and kids was perfect to go with our individual meals. I would do everything all over again EXCEPT the bubble tea. It was not only a $4 glass of tea, but the "bubbles" were just weird. They're not particularly tasty; it's like "nothing" flavored gummy-balls plopped into the bottom of your drink. This coming from a guy who likes his frozen yogurt with gummy bears on top! The tea itself was much like Thai tea, and that was really good. I would go again, at night, as soon as my wife would be down for a re-visit. I give Three Fold four Yums.

I absolutely love this place. Just moved back from the Northeast, so I was stoked to find a place with legit dumplings. You only have three options (noodles, dumplings and steamed buns). But you really can't go wrong with any of the three. My favorite is to go half and half with noodles and dumplings. Delicious!

I really like Three Fold - it's one of my favorite places for take out in Little Rock. There are three choices (noodles, dumplings, and buns), each of which can be veggie, pork, or chicken. My standard order is veggie noodles (mushrooms and tofu), poison (= extra spicy!) and either a pork bun or pork dumplings (spicy). The bun surprised me the first time I had it - it was more of a sandwich than a bun-bun. Think Chinese torta! It has lovely herbs and crispy buns. It's great hangover food. I love the cucumber slaw (light sesame dressing) and the bean paste sesame balls are heavenly. They're best fresh so I recommend eating them before your mean. To quote my mom (and possibly many moms), "life's short, eat dessert first." The bubble tea is also pretty good. The tea itself is great (and lactose free) but the boba don't have quite the perfect texture. The only change I would make is that I really want them to serve a soup!

"We are noodle folk. Broth runs through our veins!" I don't advertise this much...but "Kung Fu Panda" has got to be one of my favorite movies of all time. Po, the movie's hero is a character that I can relate to. He's Asian, he feels like he doesn't belong, and his immense love for noodles and dumplings allows him to accomplish many things. In the movie, Po's adoptive father talks incessantly about a "noodle dream" that will basically transform his life. Well, folks...I finally had that noodle dream and in Little Rock, Arkansas out of all places. Three Fold Noodles and Dumpling Company is a brand-spanking new, fast casual restaurant located next to a bank. The aesthetic is clean and white with lots of reclaimed wood everywhere. My hunger pang hit at 7:45 and the restaurant closes at 8 pm. A quick search on Yelp told me they were located 3 minutes from my hotel. I laced up my shoes and decided to call in my order while I walked over. I arrived a minute or two later and my order was already packed up and ready to go. Now THAT's service. I was also happy to see that they served cucumber water in addition to their regular soda selection. It was the perfect refresher after a long day of traveling. The owner of the restaurant Rebecca was nice enough to introduce herself to me and tell me that all of the dishes were made by her mom using authentic Chinese recipes. I took my food back to my hotel and Mr. Ping's noodle dream commenced: + Chicken dumplings with spicy sauce: This bowl was humongous! I could only eat two but I was really happy with the dough texture -- not too thick and not too thin. It tasted super homemade and reminded me immediately of my childhood. The spicy dipping sauce was the perfect nasal clearing all-natural spring allergy medication! Deliciously hot. + Pork Noodle Bowl - The noodles were served dry with pulled pork, and cabbage on the side. I didn't know what to expect when I dug in since it looked a bit plain... but boy oh boy those noodles were good! I've never had noodles as chewy and texture filled as these before. Even though there was just a tiny bit of sauce in the noodles it was still excellently flavored. It made a great meal even without the super tender pork on the side. At $9 a bowl, I already know this will be something I will be seeking out the next time I'm in the city!

Finally had the opportunity to try this place out after hearing so many good things about it and I was not disappointed! We drove right past 3 times because it's so low key! As soon as I walked in I loved the decor. Very chill. I liked the natural lighting. I went during the 2-4 slow hour so there weren't many people there. I ordered the chicken noodle bowl and my boyfriend the chicken dumplings. The chicken dumplings are definitely a must have! I will definitely be going back during the dinner hours to see this little place come to life. Next time I'll be sure to order the noodle soup which is available if you ask for it! Will recommend this place to all my friends. It's good for a group of friends or a nice lunch date.

I travel to Little Rock a few times a year and was excited to find a new place to try. I asked some of the locals I had meetings with their opinion before heading over. They all had great things to say. I really enjoyed my meal. I had half noodles with spicy tofu and 1/2 veggie dumplings. I love the 1/2 and 1/2 option for those of us who aren't good at making decisions ;) Took some tarot chips for later. Good vibe/decor too. It looks like it could be in Brooklyn except they don't make you sit piled on top of strangers. Lots of space and good background music (not too loud). Like Arnie says "I'll be back."

Super good food. It nice to find a place that you can go to where you show up order food and drink, eat, and never feel rushed and it all takes around 30 minutes. I'm a big fan of the pork dumplings and the carrot ginger slaw. Nice clean modern space as well

This cute restaurant is in downtown Little Rock. We almost drove right past it because the outside signage just says "THREE FOLD" on the glass door. Nothing else to even let you know it is a restaurant. Thankfully to YELP, we had the address to put in our GPS. I had the spicy noodles with chicken and the taro chips. I, personally, do not like shredded chicken and it had a certain spice in it that I did not like, but that is just me. My boyfriend tasted my noodle bowl and the taro chips and he really liked it all a lot. He ordered the dumplings and we both LOVED them. We ordered both of lunches to be spicy and it was spiced perfectly. Very friendly and fun staff and there are plenty of tables with lots of room in between. I would return for the dumplings and my boyfriend said he would return to try the rest of the menu.

Excellent place. Definitely get the spicy noodles and spicy steamed buns. We also ended up adding the Taro chips, which was a great choice as well. Not too pricey either The service was top notch. Very friendly staff. The only negative was the sign outside doesn't stand out too much, but not really a big deal for us.

OM NOM NOM. Veggie dumplings, a veggie bun (kinda like the Chinese version of an English muffin sloppy joes), two kinds of slaw (cabbage and carrot sesame), two drinks and dessert (five mini sessame balls!) Plus tax all for about $25 = exactly what this road weary traveler and her handsome navigator needed for dinner after days of bland middle American fare. Sorry for the lack of photos... We ate too fast/forgot. Next time, LR! Also, we ordered too much food and took the sessame balls back to the hotel, where they made a good (but greasy) late night snack.

Found this place on yelp, and was not disappointed. Really good noodle bowl, lots of flavor. Was a little disappointed that there was no broth, but only because I was craving broth. Loads of flavor! Dumplings were okay, nothing to write home about. Definitely would come back.

Some quick thoughts about this place during the soft opening on 12/18/14. The concept is like Chipotle, you choose what type of dish you want followed by the protein. I got the noodle with tofu and it was pretty delicious. I also got an order of the taro chips which were great but a little too salty for how thinly sliced these were. I was going to get dumplings afterwards to go but line was too long so I'll try some on my second visit. Staff was great, however it took forever to get the food assembled in the assembly line format. This should however change when they get more experience just like when Chipotle opened in Little Rock.

I was in town and met here with friends for a quick meal. I had the half and half of noodles and dumplings with pork. Both were really good and I appreciated the heat of the spicy option. It was nice to have a pared down menu focused on doing a few things really well. I would definitely go back.

at the urging of some friends who love this place, i gave it another shot. but this time i ordered the dumplings pan fried with spicy sauce. holy balls it made a huge difference! it was a completely different experience than i had last time i came. just doing that simple thing totally changed the entire meal. they charge 10% extra to pan fry the dumplings, but it is worth it. the way i see it, an extra 10% to make them 100% better. so now i will come back and eat them this way, but i still won't give it 5 stars because: 1) they don't even mention this option on the menu 2) the rest of the menu is BORING.... BOTTOM LINE: i wouldn't pay $2 for an order of the regular steamed dumplings. but i will gladly pay $10 for the pan fried dumplings in spicy sauce. if you read all the other reviews, almost every one of them mention that the menu is lacking. I understand the owner is trying to be a purist and whatnot, and i appreciate that the owner responds to the yelp reviews...but it doesn't matter...just give the people what they want. it's a business, not an art studio or utopian commune. you're making food, not painting the sistine chapel. they seem to do a decent business for now, but i can't imagine it's sustainable unless they add some things.

Got this to go tonight and trying out for the first time....with some warm sake. I've got to say, it's pretty tasty. Best part was how fast and easy it was. I was in and out in 5 mins. I really liked the interior, simple and cute. I ordered the pork dumpling which they made it spicy and it's fantastic. I also got the chicken noodle plate. Very good, the only thing I which is that it would be a lil less dry, other than that it's great. I'll definitly be back again. The tofu actually looked delicious so I'll try that next time

I went in for lunch on a weekend during the holidays, since they'd posted about the wonton soup and I was entirely all Christmas-leftover outed by that point. It was really really quiet at the time so there were none of the service problems the other reviewers have mentioned. The owners came by and chatted with me and tiny food critic to see how we were liking the food. I'll admit, I'm a ridiculous sucker for fried bread. The mo is a fusion of a steamed and fried bread and they're almost perfect, I think mine was a little bit on the dry side honestly but as a starch to a soupy dish that wasn't a negative. The wonton soup special wasn't the Cantonese style I grew up with so it was a bit of a shock but the wontons were solid, and the pickled vegetable, spicy-ish soup was excellent on a cold December day. I'll have to come back and try the regular menu too sometime.

Quite good food. Not a lot of variety... 3 menu choices as main courses. The meat bun (Pork) is packed with flavor! I will visit again and try the noodle bowl next. Wife got the dumplings and they were as expected. Dumplings. I would go 3.5 overall just because of the lack of choices, but they are good. ALSO.. PLEASE PUT SOMETHING ON THE WALLS! That is the only real negative there isn't any personality. Black and white.

TL;DR (out of 5): Three Fold Noodles + Dumplings provides a simple, bright flare to the ostensible blasé of Little Rock dining options. Set up almost like a Chipotle for Asian flavors, the restaurant attracts mostly young adults and college kids while offering a simplicity, refinement, and creativity that would please most adults. And although the interior feels ominously sterile, the colorful and vibrant flavors it offers within undoubtedly bring an experience that would be difficult to find, let alone in Mid-Central America. Food: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price: 4 Service: 2 Decor: 3 Served at room temperature, the noodles have the perfect bite to them with a thickness comparable to that of spaghetti. I ordered mine with shredded pork, which was wonderfully seasoned with a soy marinade. The meat was moist, almost with a chashu-like flavor. I ordered mine with the regular adornments (preserved vegetables and a mix of different sauces for the noodles) with some sliced cucumbers and hot oil on top. The sauces complemented one another very well - I'm curious as to what they were; the preserved vegetables, which often has an astringent flavor to them, were nicely mild. I also ordered a side of slaw and taro chips. The cabbage slaw was crisp, sweet, and tangy, with a slight heat at the end from the addition of Thai chilies - a perfect combination and balance of flavors. The taro chips are also to die for!! They have beautiful purple streaks going through them with a light sprinkling of salt and sugar! So it was almost like kettle corn, but for taro chips. The atmosphere was nice; it seemed as though everyone was enjoying themselves and some (mostly adults) were discussing the food and what each item was that they ordered. The decor was kind of weird - white tile flooring, reminiscent of an old hospital floor, with hard metal everywhere. Like I noted above, it seemed quite sterile (not sure if that's why they were going for). What really got me (and stole one star away from this delightful establishment's rating) was the service. Now I'm one to be pretty tolerant when it comes to service issues, as I've worked many years in the food industry; but this instance I couldn't overlook. While the two line servers (who put my bowl/food together) were plain and nice, the busboy/cashier came off as very attentive, yet weirdly reluctant to be doing his job. It started off at the cashier when he rung me up. "Let's see... a pork noodle bowl with some extras? Did you want a drink or taro chips?" (What does "some extras" mean in terms of how much I'm paying? I just learned upon checking my emailed receipt that the cabbage slaw is the Chipotle equivalent of guacamole, although only 78 cents.) Anyways, I typed in my email for a receipt and swiveled the touchpad back to him; he says "Did you press send? Hmm... Uhhh, whatever. Not my problem." and proceeds to tend to the next customer. (It unfortunately is your problem if I don't get the receipt that I asked for.) Next: a couple sitting in front of my table asks the same worker what the tapioca in their bubble tea is for, since it doesn't seem to have much flavor. Right in front of me, an Asian person, he responds with "Yeah, I don't really know. It's just some weird Asian thing that they do. Doesn't really seem to make sense." and then continues to talk about the "weird" food things that are served at Three Fold. (Really? Besides your blatant disregard for my heritage and culture, why are you bashing the products of your establishment? Not okay.) Finally: as he's returning to the front, he quickly shoots - without any break/time for me to put in a response - "Anything I can get out of the way for you? Nope? Kay, great." and then quickly shuffles off. (Great to know you didn't actually care about my response.) I would've understood the worker's abrupt and/or trite attitude had it been busy or had I been a difficult customer, yet neither happened. End rant. Pork Noodle bowl $7.79 Side of Slaw $0.78 Taro Chips $2.19 Water $0.25 (really??)

Three Fold is delicious! When I first saw the menu, I knew it was somewhere I wanted to try...and it didn't disappoint! As we have a small baby, my husband and I rarely get out as often as we used to. In light of this, we decided to try a little of everything: a pork bun, chicken dumplings, pork noodles, and taro chips. Everything was delicious! My favorite was the pork noodles - they were seasoned perfectly, and very flavorful. I also really enjoyed the steamed bun. And the taro chips were very good.

Visiting Little Rock for the first time and wanted to get something cheap and Asian for lunch. Did not expect much from an Asian joint in Arkansas but it was much better than I expected! I got the pork dumplings while my dad got the chicken steam bun. Both were great and we both liked the spicy option they offered. On a side note... I am reading some of the reviews of this place and people are saying there's a half and half option. I wish I would have known that when I went as it is not clearly stated on the menu because I really wanted to try the noodles as well.

  • Nu K.

The chicken noodle bowl was tasty and spicy the way we like. However, if you are Asian and think that it is a soup bowl, you would be disappointed. It is more like a Vietnamese vermicelli bowl made with egg noodle. The pork dumpling was fair, the skin is thicker than we like. Cabbage slaw is preferred over the carrot slaw.

  • Sarah S.

After reading all the amazing reviews, I was dreaming of freshly made dumplings but was sorely disappointed by the stale chicken dumplings that were plucked out of a steam table and plopped into a sad bowl. Maybe they would be better fresh, but I'll never know. It's also a bummer to get something so underwhelming and overpriced at the same time. Save your money!

  • R Y.

Pretty mediocre Asian place. They just started serving bubble tea so I tried it- it's pretty awful!!! The black tea flavor doesn't flow through and the boba might break your teeth because it's so hard. The dumplings might be the best ones in town, simply because there aren't that many other places! The skin on those dumplings are pretty thick and the flavor is ok but not great. Service is polite and efficient though!

Went for the first time and tried one of each. Food was good, but nothing to write home about. Everything is pre-made (you order at the counter) so the food was warm but not hot, and it kind of had a cafeteria/food court vibe. Worth checking out especially for a week day lunch or light dinner, but there are definitely better options in town.

Came in during a not so busy time and the service was much more pleasant. I ordered a spicy pork noodle bowl and was pretty good. A little salty, but I will be returning. My only complaint is the hours make it impossible for those who don't live or work close to downtown!!

This was very well done. There was a long line (11:45 on Friday) but it moved quickly. Tried to get half and half slaw so I could try both and was told I'd have to get two separate ones. Kind of silly. I had the pork dumplings with medium sauce. Nom. Nom. The single slaw I ordered, carrot, was alright. I will be back. Update: Like the food so much that I brought my boyfriend for dinner. They were doing a much slower table service, especially for seeing the dumplings right in front of me. Also, after the 'slaw experience', I'd recommend others prepare to be nickel and dimed. Asked for mild sauce when the medium was burning my lips. Was told it would be $0.25. Went from 4 stars to 3. Food was still good.

I am a big fan of this place. It is my go to lunch spot when I don't bring my lunch to work. it is super clean the people are great and the food is delicious. I like a place that only has a few items on the menu but is dedicated to getting those items correct. One tip is you can get a half noodle and half dumpling Bowl. That combo is not listed on the menu.

Fast, downtown lunch options for a vegetarian can sometimes be lacking in LR, but Three Fold fills that void nicely! Yes, the menu is simple, but I like that they focus on what they do well rather than cluttering it up with so-so food, and if this picky-eater vegetarian can find something to eat there, then anyone can! The atmosphere is great - like the menu the look of the restaurant is simple and clean. Our service was great, too; went in at the peak of the lunch rush on a Wednesday and the line looked a mile long, but in just 8 minutes we went from 14 people ahead of us to sitting down with our food - I was impressed! So if the line looks long, don't let it scare you off! I had the veggie dumplings and tried a bite of the noodles. Both were absolutely fantastic. My dining companion (also a vegetarian) had been to Three Fold before and suggested I ask for the dumpling sauce on the side - apparently her dumplings came swimming in sauce and quickly became soggy at her last visit. She also said that the steamed buns, while good, were not her favorite thing on the menu. I'll take her word for it, because now that I've tasted their dumplings I don't think I can ever try anything else - I'm going to be craving them for weeks to come! All in all, it's a great place and I am super pumped that Three Fold has entered the downtown eating scene!
